Dr. Phillips Baseball upped their record to 3-0 on the season with a 10-0 pasting of visiting Oak Ridge Wednesday afternoon. DP rang up seven runs in the second inning and tacked on three more over the next two innings to close out the game in the fifth inning. Mitchell Stockwell got the call on the hill and after Oak Ridge loaded the bases with no outs in the first, Stockwell struck out the next three batters to shut the rally down. Stockwell allowed just four hits in four innings (three in the first) and struck out five to get the victory. In the home second, Jacob Hartman doubled home a pair of runs and then stole home to put DP up 3-0. August Haymaker added an RBI double, the first of his two on the day, and Brandon Fields belted a two-run double to center to push the Panthers’ lead to 6-0. In the bottom of the third, Haymaker doubled to right to bring home Jacob Hartman and Hamzah Nobles for a 9-0 lead and DP put the game away for good in the fourth when Hartman singled home Sebastian Oetterer. Haymaker finished the day 3-3 with 3 RBIs and a run scored, Hartman went 3-3 as well with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brandon Fields, Hamzah Nobles, Sebastian Oettterer, Jorden Peace and Raymond Negron-Valero all came through with hits. DP has been red-hot at the plate through the first three games, batting .395 as a team. DP will close out their season series with Oak Ridge Friday on the road.
